The residents of Selasih village in Bali’s Gianyar regency on Saturday attempted to block heavy equipment from clearing their farmlands. Photos from the altercation showed some women taking their tops off as a form of protest, as they reportedly faced hundreds of police officers who were overseeing the process.

2 French nationals briefly detained after stealing vodka from Ubud supermarket
Police briefly detained two Frenchmen on Wednesday, after the pair was caught trying to steal vodka bottles from a supermarket in Ubud.
“Yes, there was an attempt to steal two bottles of liquor,” Ubud Police Chief, I Nyoman Nuriana, confirmed yesterday.
