“That was really strong. I was in the kitchen when it happened, and I immediately took my kids out of the house,” a woman named Asuan, who took refuge in the parking lot of a boarding house in Kuta, Badung regency, told Coconuts Bali.

The quake lasted for about 30 seconds, and strong tremors were felt in Bukit Peninsula. BMKG also said the tremors could be felt in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara.

The National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) added via Twitter that tremors were felt in West Denpasar, causing many students to scramble outside from their classrooms. The situation has reportedly returned to normal at the time of publishing.
