If you’re planning to spend the year-end holiday in Bali, it’s best to note that domestic tourists flying into Ngurah Rai International Airport are now required to present a negative PCR test result, according to a new circular issued by the provincial government.

The latest update, issued today, comes as officials expect more domestic travelers to visit Bali in time for Christmas and the New Year, while COVID-19 cases are still on the rise in the province and throughout Indonesia.

Instead of prohibiting travel altogether to curb coronavirus transmissions, the government has decided to add some new requirements. This includes negative PCR test results for all air travelers and negative antigen rapid test results for travelers who use other modes of transport to enter Bali.

A negative result is valid for 14 days after it was issued, while air travelers are also required to fill up the e-HAC (Health Alert Card) form, which can be done using an app that’s available on both Google Play and App Store.

The new circular, which also includes other provisions for year-end celebrations, will come into effect this Friday and last until Jan. 4, 2021.

Editor’s Note: The article has been updated to specify that the requirement for travelers who aren’t flying is a negative antigen rapid test result.
