“Based on statements from the victims, they said the suspect stalked them while they were on their motorbikes and proceeded to edge their bikes closer so that the victim would fall, with the intention to rape them,” the police said in a statement.

The suspect, identified as IPAP, also groped their breasts and forced their clothes off, police added. The four victims, identified as NWADS (27), NWS (46), NKWS (32), and NMS (38), were assaulted on separate occasions during the 45 minute timeframe.

NWADS was the first victim, who fell from her motorbike after IPAP edged his bike to hers. Once she was on the ground, the suspect moved closer and groped her, before pulling her to the middle of the road and lowered her pants. NWADS shouted for help, scaring IPAP away as the noise caught the attention of a resident nearby. He then preyed on the other victims with similar approaches.

Police said IPAP was just released from prison earlier in July, after he served time for a similar crime. He is now charged with articles on sexual assault and rape under Indonesia’s criminal code (KUHP), which carries a maximum sentence of 12 years in prison.
