Golkar politician for the next 60 days. Sudikerta’s detention period, which is still awaiting appeal process in the Supreme Court in the case of alleged fraud and money laundering (TPPU) of Rp 150 billion, ended on June 28.

The extension was based on a letter sent by the Supreme Court to the clerk of the Denpasar District Court on Thursday (2/7). In a letter signed by the Special Registrar of Special Crimes, Suharto, dated June 29, 2020, stated that Sudikerta’s detention period was officially extended from 29 June to 29 July. Also, it will be extended from 29 July to 29 August. The Supreme Court had twice extended the detention period of the man who had served as the Deputy Regent of Badung, for 50 days and 60 days. However, because the cassation hearing had not yet been completed, the detention period was extended again in the next 60 days. “According to regulations, for a period of detention where the sentence is more than 9 years, an additional extension of 2×30 days can be made,” explained the Head of Penkum and Public Relations of the Bali Prosecutor’s Office (Kejati) Bali, Luga A Harlianto, who was contacted by the media crew on Thursday (2/7). “Now we are just waiting for the cassation decision from the Supreme Court. Hopefully in the near future the verdict will come out,” said Luga. Besides Sudikerta, the extension of the detention period for Anak Agung Ngurah Agung. As is known, in the case with the victim PT Maspion boss, Alim Markus, the Denpasar District Court judges decided Sudikerta with a sentence of 12 years in prison, a fine of Rp 5 billion in subsidies to four months in prison. Against that decision, Sudikerta immediately filed an appeal to the Denpasar High Court (PT). In an appeal verdict at the PT level, Sudikerta’s sentence was reduced to 6 years in prison. Not only that, the criminal fine of Rp 5 billion also dropped to 500 million three months confinement subsidiary. Based on the decision from PT Denpasar, the Public Prosecutors Team then filed an appeal to the Supreme Court. (*)
