The Natural Resources Conservation Center (BKSDA) in Bali is investigating the death of a dolphin that had been kept as an attraction at a hotel in the town of Lovina in North Bali’s Buleleng regency after the cetacean died on Saturday morning.

French drug smuggler’s death sentence commuted in Indonesia
An Indonesian court has commuted French drug smuggler Felix Dorfin’s death sentence to 19 years in prison, his lawyer told AFP today.
“Dorfin’s sentence has been commuted from death,” said the 35-year-old Frenchman’s lawyer Denny Nur Indra, citing the ruling by the high court on the island of Lombok, which is expected to be made public later today.

Police have arrested a young woman, identified by her initials SD, for allegedly leaving her newborn baby in a fishing pond in south Denpasar, making this the second case in recent weeks where an abandoned baby has been found dead in Bali.
