These days, more and more no-waste bulk stores are popping up in major cities across Indonesia. It’s kind of a no-brainer, really, when you consider the fact that this Southeast Asian country is the world’s second-largest producer of plastic marine waste.

A 35-year-old fish farmer was found dead at Lake Batur in Kintamani, Bali, yesterday afternoon. Authorities suspect he fell off his boat and had difficulty swimming because he was fully-clothed and wearing boots, causing him to drown.

Around 12,000 baby chicks were killed in a farm fire in the Pupuan sub-district of Bali’s Tabanan regency yesterday, causing an estimated loss of IDR 1.2 billion (USD 89,246).
