Russian man who once tried to escape custody by hiding in a ditch sentenced to 7 years in prison for drug possession
Andrei Spiridonov, a Russian man who was arrested back in April for allegedly importing illegal narcotics and managed to escape the Bali Police before being re-apprehended while he was hiding in a ditch, has been sentenced to seven years in prison today.

A 23-year-old Balinese man, identified as I Ketut Gede Ariasta, was arrested for allegedly stabbing his 21-year-old wife, named Ni Gusti Ayu Sriasih, over a post she put up on Facebook.

24 sea turtles reportedly stolen from conservation center in Denpasar, police investigating
Police in south Denpasar are investigating a case of alleged theft at the Pantai Sindhu Turtle Conservation Center in Sanur, whereby a total of 24 sea turtles were stolen in the early hours of Monday.
Police foil attempt to smuggle 100 kg of marijuana through Bali’s Gilimanuk Port
Police in Bali’s Jembrana district said today that four men were arrested for an alleged attempt to smuggle 100 kilograms of marijuana through Gilimanuk Port over the weekend.
“[Our investigation] began with a tip-off from local residents, which led us to step up surveillance at Gilimanuk Port,” Jembrana Police Chief, I Ketut Gede Adi Wibawa, told reporters earlier today.
