One of Indonesia’s top officials is considerably optimistic for the near-future of the country’s tourism sector, with the government reportedly planning to attract travelers from countries which are “swiftly recovering” from the COVID-19 outbreak.

Police say four foreign nationals are officially required to report to authorities after throwing a private party that went viral this week for ignoring social distancing measures amid the COVID-19 outbreak.

It looks like ignorance fully displayed on social media is what it takes to unleash netizens’ wrath in Indonesia (and pretty much elsewhere, let’s be real), to the point that even the Bali governor has weighed in on the Sunday night party involving a bunch of foreigners on the island that has gone viral for blatantly ignoring social distancing measures amid the COVID-19 outbreak.

Bali Governor Wayan Koster yesterday said that the perceived lack of local transmission in the province means that Bali still has a long way to go before it implements the central government’s Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) policy and will instead emphasize on restricting access to the island.

Local authorities in Bali’s Klungkung regency said they rebuked at least 17 foreign nationals who went surfing at the local beaches over the weekend, noting that the areas have been closed off to curb the spread of COVID-19 on the island.

Indonesia is set to host world-class MotoGP races for the next 10 years following a five-year extension to its initial contract, according to an official from the Mandalika Grand Prix Association (MGPA).
