It’s shaping up to be a pretty creative and crafty weekend here in Bali, and here’s an opportunity for you to try your hand at pottery, as Pottery Addicts is set to host a workshop over at Tokomono where you can learn more about hand-building techniques from scratch and bring home your own pots. The price includes all the materials you are going to need for the day.

Saturday, March 14 at Tokomono from 1pm to 4pm. IDR400K/person. For more information and to book your spot, contact +62 811 3850 023.

Learn How to Make Croissant at Monsieur Spoon

Before you get all excited, this class is only taking kids ages four to 16 so this would be more of a “hey parents, if you don’t know where to take your kids this might be fun” kind of event. We all know Monsieur Spoon and we all love their fresh pastries, this could certainly be a fun activity for the young ones to learn something new and bring back their self-made pastries home.

Saturday, March 14 at Monsieur Spoon Canggu at 3pm. IDR 150K/child. For more information, check out their Facebook event page.

Balinese Dance Class at Usada Bali

Dance is such an integral part of life in Bali that one can’t quite imagine the local culture without images of artistic and ethereal performances. It all starts with basic steps, mixed with hand gestures and delicate eye movements all of which you can start learning with Sri Praharsini, a seasoned Balinese dance teacher, this weekend.

Sunday, March 15 at Usada Bali from 10am onwards. IDR 150K/person. For more information, click here.

Paint & Wine: Toco the Toucan

Who says you can’t learn a new skill as you wind down for the weekend? You don’t have to have painting experience, but you can certainly have a blast playing with colors and painting this beautiful, silly bird. Not everyone has to drink wine, either, so you can take along your kids (as long as they are eight years old and older), or just order from 9/11 Cafe.

Sunday, March 15 at 9/11 Cafe in Denpasar from 2pm to 5pm. IDR350K for the paint only package.

No Feeling is Final

Cap the weekend with this combined moving image and live sound experiment by Nicky Night Time x Funskull. It’s shaping up to be an evocative evening of sight and sound over at The Slow in Canggu. The sound piece will be performed live, integrated with works from Funskull (Elliot Routledge) who has designed a series of looping animations and banners to accompany the music. There will be elements of ‘90s acid rave, but no, it’s not going to be clubby at all. Nicky said it will be introspective, and you’re going to have to just wait and see.

Sunday, March 15 in Room 13 at The Slow, Canggu from 7pm onwards.
