Indigenous Movie Night

This Friday, Paradiso Ubud is hosting their first monthly indigenous film night in 2020 with a special screening of “Standing On Sacred Ground: Profit and Loss,” a documentary on indigenous communities around the world as they resist threats to their sacred sites.

Prior to the screening, there will be a short documentary on a tribal gathering scheduled to take place in Panama in late February, presented by a member of the organizing team of the event.

Get a chance to learn more about the challenges facing indigenous communities and meet like-minded people. Organizers say 50 percent of ticket sales will go on to support indigenous filmmakers and cultural preservation education programs in Borneo.

Friday, Jan. 31 at Paradiso Ubud from 7pm to 9.30pm. IDR150k (US$11), available for purchase on event location. For more information, check out their Facebook event page.
