According to local media reports, Eka took photos of the two women while they were taking a bath in a river. 

Gusti Putu Ediana, who is the village head in Mendoyo Dauh Tukad, Jembrana, said yesterday that family members of the two women, a mother and her daughter-in-law, have decided to file a police report against Eka. 

“An attempt to mediate at the village office failed, as the husband and family of the victims cannot accept having the matter resolved in a kekeluargaan manner because it’s about self-respect. That’s why they decided to file a police report,” Ediana was quoted as saying. 

Kekeluargaan, which roughly translates to “between family members,” is an Indonesian euphemism for amicably coming to an agreement not to press charges for a crime.

Using his mobile phone, Eka reportedly took photos of the two women while they are naked and taking a bath in a river on Saturday, which he then uploaded to his Facebook account. 

The two women, identified as Ni Made AS and Ni Wayan HA, were Eka’s neighbors. Bathing in the river appears to be common practice in the village, and no one usually makes a big deal out of it, according to a report from Kumparan. 

Tribun-Bali reported that AS and HA found out about Eka taking their photos, and had asked him to delete the pictures. However, Eka ignored them and uploaded the photos anyway. 

“It started from there and then the husband of [one of the] victims found out about it. They were angry, of course, and asked again for the photos to be deleted. But at that point it’s already made its rounds,” a source was quoted as saying. 

However, as reported by Radar-Bali today, I Made Karsa, who heads the Mendoyo sub-district police, said that he has yet to receive a report about the matter.
