“McDonald’s Kuta Beach will be closed permanently [on] Sept. 29, 2020 at 9pm. Thank you for all [the] good memories you shared for the past 20 years,” the flyer reads.

Travelers and local residents alike have frequented the fast food restaurant over the years, as it is located in one of the most popular tourist areas in Bali and being a literal stone throw’s away from the beach.

Netizens were quick to share their memories in this outlet on social media, many of whom suggested that the closure may be connected to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Well it is sad to know that McD Kuta will be permanently closed. Though i don’t visit kuta quiet often, i am sure so many people got beautiful memories with this place. Just order McFlurry and enjoying it at Kuta beach, such wonderful feeling. pic.twitter.com/GtAruXjSED
