Human foot found on Bali’s Berawa Beach, police investigating
A beachgoer found part of what is believed to be a decaying human foot on Bali’s Berawa Beach yesterday afternoon, with police now investigating the discovery.
According to reports, a foreigner filed the report soon after discovering the foot on the beach, which has since been brought to the local hospital for further examination.
News of the discovery quickly circulated online, with multiple community accounts on Instagram sharing censored photos of the foot. From what Coconuts can gather, the body part comprise the front half of a foot, with the toes having blackened from decay.
“We are still looking into it. We don’t know the cause, or who it belongs to. There’s a possibility that it’s old, and it’s only one part so we can’t be certain yet and we will take it to the hospital. Whether or not it’s actually a human foot. We are going to confirm it first,” Marzel Doni, North Kuta sub-precinct chief, said.
Marzel said that a number of witnesses have been questioned, adding that police have yet to receive any reports of missing persons in Berawa Beach this year, but suggested that citizens should inform authorities if they have any relevant information.
