As reported by Tribun-Bali, presiding judge I Made Pasek told the court yesterday that Alloggia’s case had several extenuating circumstances that they took into consideration in her sentencing, including her good behavior during trial, the fact that she had never been convicted of a crime previously, and that she was suffering from a mental illness as the result of a prior assault.

“The defendant has post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) because she was a victim of sexual violence,” Pasek said, as quoted by Tribun-Bali.

Pasek also said that the time that Alloggia had already spent in detention since March would be deducted from her sentence. Furthermore, she is to undergo treatment and rehabilitation at the Bhayangkara Hospital in Denpasar.

Alloggia told Australia’s news service 7News that she accepted the sentence and would not be appealing.

“I can’t wait to get back to my family and give them all a big hug. I would just like to go home to my children. I miss my children,” she told 7News

Alloggia, who reportedly turned 52 over the weekend, was arrested earlier this year after her American friend sent her a vial of liquid marijuana in the mail. Her package was intercepted by the police, and in it they’d found yellow-colored liquid that was confirmed to contain 0.57 grams of liquid marijuana.
