His trial begins at the Denpasar Court on Wednesday.

According to a report from Tempo, PS is alleged to have stolen the watch on the evening of Jan. 29 at a shop located in Ngurah Rai’s Departure Hall. The stolen watch is said to be worth IDR 4.9 million (USD 338).

PS, however, is not from Bali. He reportedly resides in Palmerah, West Jakarta, and has to fly to Bali just attend his trial in Denpasar. Under Indonesia’s criminal code, PS could face up to five years in prison and a fine for his theft.

As reported by Tribun-Bali, PS allegedly stole the watch while browsing inside a duty-free shop in Ngurah Rai. He reportedly distracted the shop attendant by asking to look at some glasses and when the attendant looked away PS managed to steal one of the watches on display, pocketing it before leaving without paying.

The Jawa Pos network reported earlier this year PS had worked as a pilot for Wings Air, In addition, police said the pilot has likely committed thefts previously but they were still investigating.
